Tact and Diplomacy

Whilst tact and diplomacy work well in the 'normal' world for resolving issues, they are totally wasted on narcissists and many toxic people.

These high-conflict individuals will

spend all day debating,
agree and then do their own thing anyway,
completely miss your point,
walk all over boundaries and rules we try to set,
Laugh in your face, with contempt.

Sometimes the only way to tackle these people is to say it as it is, NOT to them directly as this only fuels their fire, BUT to those around them who can learn to recognise such destructive behaviour for what it is and take action.

When dealing with toxic people, there is a small percentage that can listen, recognise their mistakes and change for the better. Training and coaching work with such people.

People well up the toxicity scale and onto the narcissistic, sociopathic and psychopathic scales do NOT respond to any advice, training or coaching. Sure, they may comply for a short time, or manipulate others even more, based upon loopholes that they have identified through their coaching / training.

No! The best way to treat narcissists is to make them invisible by ignoring their pleas for attention.

Even better, let them go so that you are no longer infected by their Trojan Horse activities within your community, business or organisation.

They offer ZERO benefit and 100% guarantee failure of anything they touch that involve or impacts other people. Somebody for whom the world and everything in it exists solely for their own consumption, promotion and adulation is beyond change ... and in most cases, hope.
